Treatment Philosophy
Hi everyone!  Thank you for taking the time to allow me to introduce myself.  As your therapist I am your personal advocate for helping you create a happier, healthier, and passionate life.  My style is to provide a confidential, and non-judgemental environment where we can work together as a team to understand how your experiences have shaped how you think, feel and act.  With compassion and understanding, I offer support and practical feedback to help clients address personal life challenges.  Many of my clients say that I have the empathy of a good friend and the knowledge and skills of a true professional who has empowered them to make their life better.

Treatment Approach
My therapeutic approach addresses the mind/body and spirit connection. I look at how all areas of your life are connected.  For example, does stress at your job or in your relationship cause you to overeat?  Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising?  Is your busy schedule making you feel overwhelmed?  Does chronic pain or depression stop you from doing the things you once enjoyed?

My treatment orientation includes but is not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy, positive psychology and solution focused therapy.  We will work together to identify your strengths and resources which can help you deal more effectively with any triggers or obstacles that prevent you from living a life you love.   As you gain insight into yourself, unwanted symptoms and negative thoughts that keep you stuck in dysfunctional behavioral patterns will disappear.  You will develop new strategies, effective coping skills and a greater sense of personal control.

Background

I received my Master's Degree in Social Work from Rutger's University in New Jersey.  I am a Licensed  Clinical Social Worker licensed by the Board of Social Work Examiners.  I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers and serve on several committees of the NJ chapter.  I am also a member of the NJ Association of Women's Therapists and a member of BIG, an organization which inspires women.

I have post graduate training in many disciplines including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Positive Psychology and Wellness, Mindful Based CBT and Couples Therapy.  I am a certified Gottman Couples Educator. I am also certified in postpartum depression and perinatal mood disorders. In addition, I am a certified infidelity recovery coach.

For many years I have been in the behavioral health and social work field working in private practice, hospitals (intensive outpatient mental health programs) and social work agencies.

I am passionate about my kids, my career and my life!  I never stop growing, believing and achieving!  Now it is my turn to give back what I have learned both personally and professionally so that you can live your best life too!

I look forward to working with you. Please give me a call or E-mail me for a free phone consultation.

Leslie Zindulka, L.C.S.W.-R, L.S.W.

Treatment Approach
My therapeutic approach includes providing play therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy(CBT) for children, tweens, teens and their parents. I believe that CBT, a relatively short-term treatment will improve your satisfaction with day to day life by helping to identify how you are thinking, feeling and behaving to then understand each of these thoughts, emotions and behaviors and how they impact one another.

Specialties
My specialties include treating parent-child attachment related concerns, the effects of families in transition on children (e.g. divorce), ADHD, social skills, anxiety and depression in children and tweens/teens, special education and school issues. I additionally specialize in treating pre and post adoption issues for adoptive families including conducting domestic & international adoption home studies, post placement supervision evaluations and birth mother consultations, which I have done for over sixteen years. (My adoption clients include married couples, singles, domestic partners, step–parents and those over forty). Clients say that my friendly approachable style makes children feel immediately comfortable and parents value my professional empathetic, supportive and clinical skills.

Background
Ms. Leslie Zindulka, L.C.S.W.-R, L.S.W. is a New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a New Jersey Licensed Social Worker, licensed by the Board of Social Work Examiners, with over twenty-five years of experience, having previously worked as a School Social Worker and an Adoption Social Worker. I received my undergraduate degree in Social Welfare from SUNY Stony Brook and my Masters of Social Work degree from Columbia University. I have post graduate introductory training in the Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT) model as well. Additionally, I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers and hold a School Social Worker Specialty credential in New York and New Jersey. I am a founding member of the Adoption Foster Care Therapist Network and a board member and active volunteer with the Adoptive Parents Committee, where I am also a regular guest speaker. I have volunteered my services to families participating in a Russian-orphan summer camp program, taught on-line education classes for pre-adoptive parents have written a monthly column for an adoption web site.

I have both personal and professional adoption and special education experiences. My interest in adoption began while still in graduate school, where I interned in a foster care agency. Seeing children with no hope of permanency touched me. While working in the public school system, I had the opportunity to work with many domestically and internationally adopted children. My husband and I are the proud parents of three wonderful children, two of whom were adopted domestically and two of whom have special education needs. I bring this unique expertise and first hand understanding and skill dealing with the adoption roller coaster ride and negotiating the intricacies of the Committee on Special Education to my work.

I look forward to working together to help you and your families reach your personal goals.

Carly Herschman, LSW

Treatment Approach

My goal is to provide a warm and supportive environment for adults, adolescents, and children, to resolve their struggles and concerns. My treatment orientation is eclectic and focuses on the specific needs of the clients I work with. At times, I utilize a mindfulness or a strength based approach, as well as, incorporating movement, art, or guided meditation to navigate difficult issues. Creating therapeutic goals is essential to working in a collaborative relationship.

It takes considerable courage to reach out to a therapist; however, my engaging personality helps people feel comfortable discussing personal challenges. If you are unhappy with how your life is going or need to make some changes, let's talk, change is possible.

Treatment Approach

The treatment approaches I use most in therapy includes a strengths based, solutions-focused model where we will togetheridentify all of your strengths, and incorporate them into a solution. I also consider the family and other outside resourceswith which you interact, and their impact in achieving the goals! I believe that to best reach your goals, all aspects of life and how they impact one another need to be considered and explored. Together we will also discuss various coping skills for addressing triggers, negative feelings or thoughts, and handling obstacles that may be preventing you from achieving your goals.
